I am stuck now because it says to press start game but there is no button to do this.

FYI, I successfully downloaded and am about to start using the new software.  I had to switch my screen to a newer one that has the greater resolution capability.  Fortunately I had a newer one on hand.

Ok, I have solved the problem of seeing the bottom of the page with Mike's help.  I went to Control Panel and found Display, Text setting and changed it from Large (150%) to Medium (125%).  Even though this allows me to see the whole page (on Kaiser) everything else on my computer .... browsing at least for now ...... is so small I have to use reading glasses to use it.  With many websites like Facebook I have been using the CTRL minus to downsize or upsize (CTRL "+") pages and it is quick and easy to change - too bad it does not work on Kaiser 4.  I should add that on my Control Panel (Windows 7 Professional) it is hard to find the display, text setting.  I had to do a search to find it.

Its good that you were able to figure all that out.
I will provide more information via links here.
You will notice on the Download page there was also a button for "Changing Screen Resolutions" that links to this page
http://www.kaisergame.com/Home/Resolutions.html

Resolution can be tricky for some to understand.  Having your text size set to 150% does make your text larger but alot of programs dont conform to that text size because it was a ignorant addition that Microsoft provided in Windows Vista that caused programmers to curse and swear.

You can acheive better results by setting your text size to 100% and setting your resolution to the largest proper resolution your monitor can handle and use the Ctrl +/- on programs that allow text zooming.  I have shown how to do this in the link i gave above.

Depending on the size of your monitor, most all monitors today will accept a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 because that is the industry standard now.
If you are having trouble reading your screen because it is too small then set the resolution to 1366 x 768 and the text size to 100% and reboot the computer.

Kevin, thank you for the information on screen resolutions and display sizing.  Unfortunately my Windows 7 Professional does not offer the 1366 X 768 you recommended.  I have been experimenting and have settled on:
Resolution 1600 X 900 with 125% display.  This provides a balance of text size and acceptable boundaries.

Unfortunately there is no combination that gives large enough boundaries with large enough text AND allows the bottom of the Kaiser 4 page to include the typing field.  So for now I am not able to make comments but I can still input acronym comments and I can read them and the typing of other players.  I have tried everything I can think of including moving/removing the task bar, control/minus, etcetera.  Hopefully a future revision of K4 will give me this ability.

Using 100% display shows the comment field but it is not practical as too much of all my screen displays in all programs have text too small.  Display changes require a computer reboot so the 100% display is not practical.  It also has too small of text/display on K4 too.

Its very odd that you cannot select 1366 x 768 as most modern monitors recognize that as a stadard resolution. In fact that is the indeustry stadard now. All laptops come with that as the smallest and default resolution. the 768 is the height part, so if you set your resolution to anything smaller than 768, then the bottom portion of Kaiser Four will disapear off the bottom of the screen. The bottom portion is where the chat text box is. If you were to set 1366x768 as your screen res and no text zooming you would find Kaiser Four would fit perfectly on the screen even after choosing Full Screen.

Because you have set yours to 1600 x 900 with a 125% increase what you are actually doing is reducing the resolution by .25. Reducing a resolution makes everything look bigger.

So your true resolutiion is closer to 1200 x 675 and that is smaller than 1366 x 768.
Most newer Apps dont resize properly with text zooming because you are ending up with an odd ball resolution and the app cant adjust.

I would suggest finding a resolution that is as close to 1366 x 768 or above then set to 100% instead.
Overall i would suggest not using the 125% as it really is just a resolution disaster.
Dont forget to use the Full Screen button. Thats the middle one in the top right between the - and the x.

If you open Kaiser Four > Links > About ,  you will see the resolution that you ended up with.

I have an update on my efforts to find a resolution to make my K4 experience better.  I am now using resolution 1280 X 1024 with one of my older monitors that has a taller shape.  Ironically, the Kaiser Four (K4) window that pops up says, "this resolution ... "will not work" ...".

However, I noticed it also says, " ...will not fit properly on the monitor", so I tried it anyway and I can now see, and use, the comment field at the bottom of the K4 window.  I cannot see some of the material at the far right but it is not essential and I don't miss it.

As a review, I realize I am not using the 1366 X 768 but my newest computer and newest monitor will not offer this resolution.  After a lengthy discussion with my computer shop I think a new video card is the answer to get this preferred ("standard") resolution.

A higher resolution than 1366 X 768 will also work on my newest and widest monitor but it requires a 100% display setting and this makes things so small it is not practical.  Even at my current 1280 X 1024 some programs such as Microsoft Mail inbox has very small text.  This program does not allow me increase display/view size with Ctrl+.  I have additional comments on this matter on the other thread .... Problems...

1280 x 1024 is obviously going to cut off the width but be enough for height. min. height is 768
1280 x 1024 is not a Wide Screen setting for a wide screen monitor.  Is your monitor square or rectangle?

Post your Monitor Name and model here...

Essentially you can easily change your resolution on the fly without  a computers restart. Why not change your resolution to a what works with Kaiser Four as needed. I doubt a new video card will change this if your already capible of setting 1600 x 900. This is a wide screen resolution.

If you set your resolution to a size your monitor deosnt accept what you will see is black space around the edges.

I beleive a Web Browser is the only thing that works with Ctrl +

Dont forget that if you change your Text DPI setting it reques a log off or a restart. Resolution changing doesnt.

I just tried with Vista and the only part that wont work is the installation.

The installer is signed with a Security Certificate and that is the part that vista has a problem with.
I will be issuing another option soon that will bypass the certificate.
