When attempting to install the game in Windows 7 it gives an error....

The file 'C:\\Windows\system32\msvbm60.dll' could not be opened. Please check that your disk is not full and that you have access to the destination directory.

Haven't found a work around yet. Any ideas?

Havnt even loaded Windows 7 yet...waiting until its release

Im guessing that is a security issue.

Try to right click on "KNSetup.exe" and choose "Run as Administrator"

keep me posted

Further troubleshooting with the built in troubleshooter indicates that the knsetup.exe is not compatible. Flat out.

It has to be something simple though. Seems its just the dll issue. Compatibility mode doesn't help either.

It works on Vista so not sure why its not on Win 7

Yay! Finally figured out how to resolve this issue. I need to go to the msvbm60.dll file in System 32, go to properties and change the ownership of the file to myself. I could then change the permissions for the file to allow the dll file to be accessed. Having done this, the setup was able to access the dll and finish installing properly.

So yes it was a security issue...

Glad you got it going...
So does that mean its working in Windows 7?

I just got a copy of Windows 7 but havn't installed it yet. Its  based on Vista so i would assume Kaiser should still run but with all the original Vista issues.

I just installed Windows 7 on my PC and

Officially  Kaiser DOES run on Windows 7.

The installer will have to be modified a bit to correct some DLL file security replacements. But over all Windows 7 is Vista with a face lift. Im actually very impressed with it and think it will set the standards for the years to come now and XP will burn out and fade away.

;D
