Help!  My membership expired without warning and now I cannot play because the renewal process is not working for me.  I am in a loop rotating 'between select type of renewal' and username/password.

I have Windows 7 professional if that matters.  Also, the first renewal screen I saw had some of the buttons hidden.  I accidentally applied as a new member at first when the buttons were not fully visible but that did not work.  I did enter my Visa card number but it never finished and I did not got an e-mail with code.   After I downsized the window it showed the hidden part of the window.  I need to renew in order keep my name and stats. I tried the membership renewal but I got the result mentioned in my first post.

Voila, after what seems like two hours I got the thing done by following your instructions. at the link you provided.  However, even though, "at the end of the (next) day" I had entered my visa number a total of 3-4 times and received the pass code 3-4 times, which never worked and I never bothered trying again (from my Dad's cell phone), and checked my online banking to make sure I never paid twice .... it is renewed!

The first couple of pass codes/pins I expected to receive on my e-mail so I made two more attempts using a cell phone.  This third attempt I noticed it was for a cell phone, as shown with the cell number, but the code/pin did not work.  I entered the code/pin about 15 minutes after it was sent.  The fourth attempt, the cell phone was turned off and when I turned it on the text was not there so I walked outside the house, at our rural location, for better cell reception, but still no text.  Grrrrr.

I expect the cell phone code is for the people who own a cell phone, have it on, have cell reception and know and are text literate.  Anyway, I finally succeeded by simply entering the visa card number.  I expect the code/pin step is used to retrieve the previous visa number.  I have a different visa number anyway so the code/pin may not have helped me.

This process (membership renewal) could use a redo in my opinion.  I don't mind paying the previous higher annual fee of $30 instead of the reduced rate of $25.00.  Kevin, maybe give yourself a raise and redo a few problems, especially the dumb-bots regarding the three of spades.

Someone was complaining about the "program" (Kaiser Four) needing improvement and I defended you.  We discussed the number of members you have.  He said 700 but I said it is probably far fewer as some members use multiple user names.  How many members are there?

Btw, thank you for your quick response.  I appreciate it, Kevin.

I noticed your comment at the top of the membership renewal instructions, "Read Five Times" ... good advice.  Not only did I read it several times I copied and pasted it onto a Word document, in large print, and did it step by step checking off the steps with a pencil.  It still ended up being "a muddle" to me or, in other words, I had to deviate from the checklist near the end to succeed.

It would be good to give members advance warning of the pending expiry of membership.  It used to be that way although I may have simply ignored it.  I never remember the renewal process being this complicated, either.  And it would be better to bring up a new screen with every step in the renewal sequence.

The previous version of Kaiser would notifiy withing 2 weeks with a popup everytime you signed on, which people complaiend was anoying them. So the new version has it shown at the bottom of the login screen. Rather than anoy people everytime it opens.

The online payment form has confused some. Especially if you do it from a cell phone as it was designed to be done from a computer. Yes i will be revamping it.

The part you are talking about with the pin code is strictly with the credit card payments and it was not and is not required. It was optional to have your card stored with the Payment company of Stripe payments. So you could have avoided that part by not choosing to remember me.

I spent over a year and a half rewriting Kaiser from scratch to make it look cleaner and better and easier to use. Fix problems and add features that would make the game better like Colors and screen sizing and Decks and wallpapers.
In that time I also made Kaiser One for Mac, Iphone and Ipad. Instead of compliments I get emails that I dont care and dont ever do a thing to fix problems and how some are so unhappy and considering not renewing.

I have heard about the Trumping and the Bots. There are people still using Kaiser Network and refuse to update to Kaiser Four because they hate change. The problem is in an old version of Kaiser Network and if the person who is "Hosting" is running Kaiser Network then the problem may occur.

If someone wants to complain heres my email .... kevin@kaisergame.com
