I absolutely love this game!  I have been playing on the site for several years now and I am still learning new strategies.  I feel the 8pm tournament doesn't do kaiser any justice.  Kaiser is not an individual game.  At live tournaments, the scoring works great to encourage team playing but with an individual winner outcome.  10 hands are played, no points given or taken for taking the 5 or the 3, but only the score at the end of 8 or 10 hands counts.  Then you move on to the next game with a different partner, and so on until all the games are played.  Individual scores are added up from each game and a winner is declared.  Would it be possible to add in (or replace the 8 pm tournament) another tournament with this format?

So a tournament that adds up your total score for all 3 games? Now ya tell me :) that would have been much easier to program.

But wouldn't the end result still be a single winner? How you got there would just change.

You will have to come to a live tournament sometime Kevin.  The end result is an individual winner and the means of getting there is to play as a team with your partner.  Very simple scoring.  We usually play 8 hands per game.  The game isn't over until 8 hands have been played no matter the score.  At a live tourney we usually play 8 games or so, but it would work well with 3 games to keep the time limit down.  Please, please, tell me you are considering something like this......

Kevin has been to a tourney.

That said, how does bubblytrain join the tourney at 830 tonight and play herself against bots?

Ok, so tonight in the 8:00 tourney, I lead the ace of hearts, and hearts is not trump.  My partner trumps the trick, which is mine, with the hope of getting the 5.  The rules don't encourage good play.
